Agra fort , also called Red Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It is located near Yamuna river and it was the royal residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty until 1638 . The construction of the Agra fort was started around 1565 , when the initial structures were built by the Mughal Emperor Akbhar , and subsequently taken over by his grandson shah jahan , who added most of the marble creation to the fort .
The fort is the crescent shape , flattened on the east with long , nearly straight wall facing the river . It is ringed by double castellated ramparts of red sandstone , punctuated at regular intervals by bastions.
All facts of Agra fort
Agra fort is situated on the opposite bank of River Yamuna on which Taj Mahal has built .it has four gates ,but at persent only Delhi gate is the main gate for the entrance. the gates were built in such a way that it was difficult for the invaders to enter the fort even with the help of elephants. The Delhi gate was exclusively for Akbar.
Among the major attractions in the fort is Jahangir's palace(jahangiri's Mahal), built by Akbar as a peivate palace for his son jahangir. It is the largest residence in the complex .
Jahangir mahal buit by Akbar . It is the earliest and of diverse design . Musamman Burj
The most interesting is Musamman burj which you can see behind me in this photo. The intresting thing is that we can see the view of the Taj Mahal from here . The special thing in Musamman Burj is an octagonal , mùlti-storey tower. The tower look out over the Yamuna River and is considered to have one of the most poinnant views of the Taj Mahal . Legend says it was here that shahjahan imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb.
Most interesting fact
It was my first time visit of Agra fort and i get an amazing fact which i have never heard before and i think some of u may also not hear such fact before . The Amazing fact which i talking about is that you can directly see the Tajmahal from Agra fort clearly as there is a special spot side given in Agra fort from where you can see the Yamuna river and Tajmahal as well.
Spot area to see Tajmahal from Agra fort
If u see the photo above and focus it u may find the Tajmahal image also in this photo . From here you can see the Tajmahal and enjoyed it.
It was said that when Tajmahal was constructed at that time shahjahan used to see the construction work from this spot area.
the intresting fact is that this is not only single spot to see Tajmahal view but there are so many windows in a same line and from each window the same angle , view and focus area for Seeing Tajmahal is same.
Many time we visit Tajmahal but left Agra fort just because we can see its outer view from road but i think their are so many things which is really very beautiful inside This fort here i see the small Mosque which is completely made by marbel and the name of this Mosque mageena Masjid .
Agra fort is so huge that it is very difficult to cover all part of it in a single day. I also cover only 1/4 part of it due to shortage of time but i suggest you that if u plan to visit Agra fort u should select such specific day in which you are completely devote your time for visit . I think then you may visit it completely or at least 3/4 part of it .
Friends , their are so many such things which is also very beautiful inside Agra fort here i mention about some of them and i wish u get some interesting fact from it . When you go and see all these things you feel amazing . I mention this topic is because to provide you some knowledgeable fact about it . I know , all of you hered about such type of monuments and several time u may also visit their but here what
Is special in it is i visit this monument to celebrate World Heritage Week
Some facts about World heritage week
Archeological survey of India celebrate World Heritage week every year 19 november to 25 november in India.
The purpose of celebrating this week is to create awareness among the general public about the importance of preserving natural heritage sites in the country . Given the importance that Indian people attached to traditions and heritage , world heritage week holds great importance for the republic of India.
Some popular UNESCO recognized world heritage sites are Taj mahal , Agra fort ,Qutub Minar , Hampi Temple, Redfort Delhi , kashi vishwanath temple etc. Among them Tajmahal is known as the main historical building .
But one thing which is to be noted here that those site which are visited more by people and very popular they are well maintained and on the other hand , many important historical places which have some importance but not so popular and less visited by people has loose its beauty as no maintenance work has been done for it . So we should have to preserve our cultural monuments by giving equal importance as like Tajmahal.
If we do so than definitely such other monuments get live for many years in future.
So i write my blog on it and i hope u get some awareness . Now i end my writing with this quote -
"Preserve cultural heritage sites are the rich essence of diversity and reflection of our culture "
Its amazing
