 What is the news ? 

 Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog  begins National wide campaign to celebrate  "      Kamdhenu Deepawali Abhiyan". Ministry of Fisheries , animal husbandry and Dairying implemented the nation wide kamadhenu Deepavali abhiyan on Oct 12 , to promote extensive use of cow dung during the festive season of Diwali . similar initiative was carried out during the Ganesh festival  and this is the continuation in the Programme .  


 Introduction of this campaign :

    Under this campaign,  small scale products such as Diyas, agarbatti , dhoop , swastika , decorative wall - piece and idols of Mata Lakshmi and Ganesha ,all made out of cow dung will be promoted by the Aayog . The initiative has set a goal of reaching around 11 crore families and ignite almost 1 lakh diyas made of cow dung at the Varanasi Ghat .




What is the singnificance of this campaign ?

As our Country now focus on making ourselves " Aatmanirbhar" it is very important to give more emphasis on local items (  under make in India project) rather than foreign item , so government also engage to Promote Indian product in local as well as in vocal . 

here are some points mention which shows the significance of this particular campaign 

1. Generating Employment :

  Under this campaign their is the great job opportunity  for the people in the small scale Industries  who will engage in making the products.

2. Make The Environment clean and healthier : 

As the products made by using cow dung ,so it is environmentally friendly and biodegradable. 

3. Reduce Dependency on other countries :

By providing an environmentally friendly alternative to Chinese made diyas ,the campaign will boost the " Make In India" Vision also.


About the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog:

  • RKS constituted in 2019 , the Aayog is a high powered permanent apex advisory body with the  mandate to help the central government to develop appropriate progrmes for conservation , sustainable development and genetic up gradation of indigenous breeds of cows .
  • it comes under the Ministry of Fisheries , Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
  • RKA will  function as an integral part of Rashtriya Gokul mission .

 FUNCTIONS :-

  • Review existing laws , policies as well suggest measures for optimum economic utilization of cow wealth for enhance production and productivity , leading  to higher  farm income and better quality of life for the dairy farmers. 
  • promote scheme to encourage the use of organic manure  and recomended suitable measures including incentives schemes for use of dung or urinr of cow in organic manure by farmers to minimize the use of chemical fertilizers
  • providing technical inputs to Gaushalas , Gosadans and Pinjrapoles.
  • Develop pasture or grazing lands for cows

conclusion : 

it is a very good initiative taken by the government and we should also have to encourage such initiatives  specially in such time where we all facing COVID-19 pandemic so that to celebrate ecofriendly Diwali in this year of 2020
